Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was an exciting day at the Deakins household. In the morning, Shelley went to run the 4-mile Turkey Trot with Dave’s sister Jen. Meanwhile, Andrew and Dave working on getting the turkeys ready to cook. Andrew especially liked helping to ‘paint’ the turkeys (brushing them with oil). Around mid-morning, we put the turkeys in the oven and then fixed pumpkin pancakes for breakfast. Things got hectic again around 3pm as we started to cook side dishes and people began arriving. It was a fun crowd of people including Jen and Mike and their kids, several couples and associated kids from our church (Matt and Maribel and Dave and Christine), Matt’s parents and a couple of CSU students. We had quite the feast of foods and desserts and everyone had plenty of leftovers to take home.

Kyle’s turkey hair is my absolute most favorite thing! I love the pic of Andrew sideways looking at it, like “Is he for real?”
