Meeting Sarah
In an odd twist, a month or so before we went to Montgomery, while Dave was talking to his good friend Hiroto in Japan, we found out Hiroto’s girlfriend Sarah is actually from Montgomery and was going to be in town over the holidays. During the few days that our trip overlapped with hers, we were able to find a time to get together and meet her. It was good times. Here is a picture of her with the family.

Christmas in Alabama
This year we all headed out east to Montgomery for Christmas to see Gamma and Grandpa Zubrick, Uncle Brad, and Great-Grandma Zubrick (and Molly, too). Unlike years past, the Christmas plans went pretty smoothly this year and we arrived without event. Andrew was excited for Christmas morning and was more than willing to help Kyle open his presents (since Kyle was mostly excited about the wrapping paper). After presents and breakfast, Andrew and Dad worked on baking a birthday cake for Jesus (Andrew decided that it needed to be a blue cake with pink frosting). Everyone enjoyed a good dinner and dessert and there were more pictures and playing with toys before tired kids went to bed after a fun day.

Gifts from Pop and Lolly
Pop and Lolly also stopped by before our departure to Alabama, braving sick children to deliver some grandparent gifts. Andrew was very excited to see both of them and also to open the exciting packages.
