Kyle’s first Rockies game
In mid-August, we had tickets for a Wednesday night Rockies/Diamondbacks game at Coors field. We brought Kyle along and he seem to enjoy it (for at least 4 or 5 innings). The Rockies pulled off a narrow win that came down to an exciting 9th inning.
Cassie heads to grad school
Also in early August, the time came for Cassie to pack up and head off for grad school in Virginia. Here are some pictures of her getting some final time in with the boys. Andrew especially enjoyed having her and still occasionally tells storys about things that he and mama and Cassie did.

Hiking in RMNP
In early August, we took a family hiking trip up to Estes Park and hiked to Cub Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Andrew and Kyle both enjoyed riding along in their backpack and bjorn and seeing the trees and rocks and animals. At Cub Lake, however the animals were a little bit too friendly and we had to climb up onto a big rock to keep the ducks and squirrels at bay. On the way back down, Andrew hiked on his own about half the way back to the car and he did a great job. All in all, it was a pretty fun day away from town!
