Andrew’s First Fort
In a definitive childhood rite of passage, Andrew (with some help from Shelley and from his friend Tanner) constructed his first fort from various toys and furniture in our basement, along with most of the downstairs bedsheets and blankets. Andrew and Tanner took turns peering out from the fort’s observation deck (aka the transparent toy bin).

Dave turns 33!
On the 16th of January, Dave celebrated another birthday. We went out on a double date with Matt and Maribel Larsen. Then on Friday, we got to go down to Denver with Mike and Jenn for Italian food at Buca di Beppo and a Colorado Avalanche hockey game.

Reading with Dad
Andrew got lots of fun new books to read for Christmas. He and Dad enjoy spreading out in the den and reading through Thomas learning books, Richard Scarry’s Busy Busy Town, Dinotrain, and many others.

“Where did everyone go…”
Tex and Chloe enjoyed having everyone out for Christmas because there were so many more people to play with them. Now that people have gone back to their own homes, Tex ponders whether or not this means that he will get less dog treats and table scraps…
