It’s a…
We had our 20-week baby ultrasound this past Wednesday and the ultrasound tech sealed up the critical picture in a card for us to open on Christmas. We opened it this morning and found out that our second baby is… a BOY! Dave, Andrew, and Tex are excited that the males will remain dominant in the Deakins household.

We’ve been celebrating Christmas parties and eating Christmas cookies and receiving Christmas cards in the mail, all of which means the holidays are quickly drawing near. As you can see, Andrew has been working hard to do his part, like editing the note for the Christmas cards and helping Dad pick out our little Andrew-sized Christmas tree.
Andrew around the house
Now that it is getting colder, Andrew has been adapting to a little more indoor activities. He still finds lots of fun things to do around the house including banging on the trashcan like a drum, eating goldfish in his booster chair, and riding around on top of his toy car (with Dad’s help). One of his new favorite toys is the train table that Pop and Lolly (John and Tharon) passed on to him complete with some track and train cars. He can spend quite a while arranging different trains on the tracks, moving them up and around the different paths, and then tearing everything back apart.
Thanksgiving
The Deakins family once again celebrated an enjoyable Thanksgiving this year. Dave, Shelley, and Andrew sat down for a breakfast of delicious pumpkin/chocolate chip pancakes to start of the morning and then Shelley and Jenn Kramar went off to the Thanksgiving Day Run. Meanwhile Andrew and Dave worked on cooking the turkey and watched the Macy’s parade on TV. In the afternoon, we took the turkey and our side-dishes over to the Kramar house and we all had a big feast with John and Tharon and Mike and Jenn and all the kids.
First Snow
When our first snow storm of the year hit in November, Andrew had the opportunity to be reintroduced to a thing that he vaguely remembered from his first year of life. After much bundling, he eagerly ventured out into the arctic tundra of our front yard and learned that walking in big snow boots takes some extra skill. He had quite a bit of fun though and now whenever he sees white stuff outside, he will point to it and say ‘Snow! Snow!’.
