Pumpkin Patch
Although we didn’t get there until the week before Halloween, the family did make an exciting trip to the Dory Farm to hunt for some pumpkins. Andrew also enjoyed looking at the chickens.
Lots of Leaves
Although we’ve enjoyed the mature landscaping that our house has, one of the downsides to having large trees is having lots of leaves in the fall. During the month of October, Dave spent several weekends trying in vain to collect them all up. Here are pictures of Andrew undoing his efforts. He had a great time landing in the leaf piles and getting buried. (No pictures, but Tex and Chloe also helped thwart the backyard leaf-raking efforts by jumping up into the tree branches and knocking down leaves while they tried to eat the crabapples).
Trains, Trains, Trains
Like many little boys his age, Andrew has become a devoted train fanatic. He loves reading Tootle the Train, The Little Red Caboose, and his Thomas the Tank Engine story books. He will sit and watch the Thomas stories on TV (for at least a few minutes) and he can spend long hours playing with his wooden train tracks. Here is him with one of his Thomas train cars.
In Wellington
Shelley’s grandpa Sam passed away in mid-October and so our family travelled out to Wellington, Ohio for the funeral. Although Andrew didn’t understand the occasion for the trip, he did enjoy the opportunity to spend time with the Zubrick family. Here is him with Gamma Margaret watching the trains that would come by a block from Great-grandma Jeanette’s house. Also him with Great-grandma Jeanette playing inside the house with his toy trains.
Andrew the Sportsfan
As the Colorado Rockies made their dramatic push to the World Series, Andrew jumped on the fan bandwagon. Here is him sporting his Todd Helton jersey.
